Beth  Leese

Publications & Web Manager at University of Brighton

Beth manages a team of designers, editors and developers responsible for the University of Brighton's website, print publications and overall visual identity.

With a background in print and design in both the public and private sectors - including an accidental spell as a graphic designer - she is now working on the replacement of the 20k+ page, hand-coded, Dreamweaver-edited university website with a new user-focused, strategy-driven, CMS-built site.

Her favourite planning and design tool is still a pencil with a rubber on the end.

Combining traditional customer research with current UX techniques

Presented in collaboration with Stuart Elliot, Senior Digital Officer at University of Brighton at Camp Digital 2013.

Wondering what it’s like to execute a user experience project in a sector that’s just getting to grips with the concept of customer experience?

Beth and Stuart share their experiences of the University of Brighton’s – and also their – first major UX project. They’ll talk about how they are combining new methods with traditional research and how those methods are helping to bring about a cultural shift.
