Anya is a User Experience Researcher for Auto Trader, with a passion for psychology and design. A keen interest in fine art and digital technologies, led Anya to study a degree in Computing with focus on UX.
After successfully completing the graduate scheme over 3 years ago at Auto Trader, she has explored coding and UX design. Her curiosity in understanding users has led to her current position in driving forward the research needs of the company. Anya's primary responsibility is on the user experience of Auto Trader’s B2B products and services on the retailer platform.
While writing her dissertation on usability and accessibility, Anya discovered that she was, in fact, Dyslexic herself. This has fueled her motivation and enthusiasm for the accessibility awareness campaign that she and Chris Gibbons are leading across Auto Trader.
Accidentally becoming accessibility champions
Hear how two UX experts challenged the 'norm' and in doing so, helped bring about change that's lead - indirectly - to the creation of a core pattern library; pa11y testing integrated into CI build pipelines; a new careers site designed, built and audited to meet WCAG 2.0 AA standards, as well as running awareness workshops, across the business: all to ensure accessibility is at the core of design and development across all of Auto Trader.
Auto Trader is the UK’s biggest automotive classifieds marketplace.
